Turner was born and raised in Enterprise. He is a graduate of Enterprise High School, and graduated from Auburn University with honors in 2004 with a degree in Building Science. While at Auburn he met his wife Lucy, whom he married upon graduation. After college, Turner and Lucy moved to Houston, Texas, to pursue a career in commercial construction. When an opportunity to join the family business became available, they moved home. Turner now runs the third generation business, Townsend Building Supply, with his brother Michael. They have grown the business in recent years to seven locations throughout the Wiregrass area and the panhandle of Florida with 90 employees.
Turner is a life long active member of First Baptist Church Enterprise, where he serves as a deacon; is a member of the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce board of directors; is chair elect of the Coffee County United Way; is on the Board of Trustees of the Wiregrass United Way; and is a member of the board of directors of the Construction Suppliers Association of Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Turner is the proud father of three girls, Virginia (8), Mary Austin (6), and Alice (2). In his spare time Turner enjoys golf, Auburn football, and spending time at the lake with family and friends.
