I am running for our State Assembly because we need more elected officials who will stand up for Nevada’s working men and women, our children, and our seniors.
I have lived in Southwest Reno for more than 13 years and am a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno.
Over the next few weeks and months, I will be walking door-to-door in our district and I hope we will have the chance to meet and discuss the issues important to you.

On Education - With the current ‘no-growth’ fiscal policy (and un-funded federal mandates), we can’t begin to afford to recruit and retain our best teachers. We can continue to cut budgets and streamline administration and hope that more funding will get to the classroom – but unless we find more revenue, our public education will continue to suffer. We need a state lottery to help fund public education.
On Health-care - We need affordable health-care for people, not more legislation for the benefit of insurance companies and their collection agencies. We need to support our health-care workers’ right to organize, or we’ll keep losing them to other states.
On Energy – For the long range, we’ll be working for the public/private partnerships in renewable energy and bio-diesel/fuel production that will provide the secure, high-paying jobs for Nevadans and new, stable sources of revenue for the State. This is something we need to move on now!
